Primark Haul

So I have gone a bit crazy in Primark just recently. What was intended to be a hunt for some new work clothes turned into me spending nearly half my weeks wages (shocking). I have always managed to pick up some amazing things from Primark, and that still stands to this very day. I think it's more of a being in there at the right sort of time. I avoid Primark like the plague on a Saturday or even during the day. Evenings are always quieter after the initial after work rush, and this allows you to walk round at your own leisure.

So let's begin by having a look at some of the things I have picked up over the last couple of weeks. Firstly is this pink duster coat which is amazing! It's so warm and fantastic quality for just £25. I can't wait to wear it this winter when it starts to get even colder. I was tempted to put this on the other day in fact but think I will save it for when it snows. Primark have some of the best winter coats in store at the moment.I recommend you getting yours early though, as they are very cheap and once they're gone, they probably wont come back!

I also managed to pick up these amazing pairs of shoes. Firstly these leopard print ones are to die for. I still have an obsession with anything leopard print, so you can imagine how excited I was to bag these and for just £9.!They are bang on trend again at the moment and look so cute teamed with a pair of jeans and a loosely fitted shirt. The mink heels are not a colour I would usually go for but these are amazing to say they're from Primark. Not only do they look classy, they are again bang on trend this autumn/winter. A bit pricier at £14, but again amazing value for money. That's two pairs of heels for just £23!

Amongst all the pleasure fuelled shopping, I did manage to pick up a few things for work. Now even though Primark seems to be going up in price, I still think you can pick up some really good work attire. I found these small heels which I often wear with a pencil skirt to work. Even though they're not the most stylish of heels, they are very comfortable, and again only cost £9.

Finally is this blazer which I love. Not only have I worn this to work, I have also worn it a couple of times when going for a meal with friends. I love the waterfall effect. The material is very strong and it doesn't look like something you would be able to pick up from Primark.

So there you have it - just a few things I have picked up recently but I am adding to this collection as we speak so expect another haul very soon!

Do you like shopping in Primark? What's the best item you have picked up recently?

Fedora

I love getting dressed up for an occasion, any occasion that is. It gives me an excuse to actually spend longer than the usual 20 minutes I do getting ready for work. So on Saturday I rose to that occasion after visiting the German Market with a good friend of mine. I love this time of year. Even though the weather is slowly deteriorating, everyone seems to be in high spirits as Christmas slowly approaches. It is a time for laughter, for loved ones, but most importantly, it's a time for giving. The good old Christmas spirit!

Along with curling my hair (which isn't something I usually do), I decided to whack on my new tartan shirt and hat (sorry ladies - this is another Primark related post). I only purchased these two items the other day but oh my - I am in love. I love fedora hats and have been searching for another one to add to my collection for a while now. At just £7 I had to get my hands on this little beauty! It's the perfect fit - not too in your face like some you find on the hight street - so perfect to wear out and out about when it's feeling chilly. My shirt which cost me just £12 is one of my favourites now. I wasn't too sure about this when I first picked it up in store, but I must say after trying it on in the comfort of my own house with a face full of make-up and a new pair of skinnies, I am a very happy lady.

I love tartan and only own one other tartan shirt. The colours on this one are perfect for this season. The only downside is the material as it's quite thin, but teamed with a vest top underneath, it's the perfect winter steal. If you are feeling particularly cold you can always add a jumper over the top too as an additional layer. Finally I have to mention my new shoes from River Island. I purchased these just the other week after finding them in the sale. Another bargain at just £20, I can't complain really. These are perfect for work as the colder weather hits us and look great with skinny jeans too.

So there you go, just one of my new winter outfits. I must admit, I do love winter clothes even if it means me looking like I have just walked out of Narnia. Yes, I love my oversized clothing, fur and not forgetting those all important layers.

What do you think of my outfit? What will you be wearing this winter?

Aloe vera gel - The benefits

So I have just finished my first ever bottle of aloe vera gel, after suffering for months with an upset tummy. In a bid to get to the bottom of what was causing my discomfort, I decided it was time to look for some possible remedies. However, it was only after I got speaking to one of the volunteers at the hospital where I used to work that I discovered that which is - aloe vera gel. Prior to this, I had never heard of drinking aloe vera. I know it's good for your skin, but consuming it seemed wrong somehow. But as the volunteer described, there are so many health benefits that come with drinking this, which with being the health freak I am, intrigued me. Not only is it good for digestion purposes, it is also good for those arthritis sufferers too.

Parting with £20 is never easy, especially when you don't know if the product you are buying is going to work. However luckily for me it did. Forever, the company who supply the gels are a growing business. I have seen numerous stalls dotted about now, which if anything, shows the impact the products are having on its consumers. I was even considering becoming a supplier myself and getting involved with the business side of things, but for now I think I will stick to buying and reviewing the products!

Everyone is familiar with Crohn's disease or Colitis - both awful diseases that start to eat away not only at your image, but your confidence too. Over the past few years particularity, I have began to start watching what I eat. Not out of choice may I add. To this day, I am still unsure as to whether I have an allergy or if I just have a sensitive stomach. However, after having a shot of aloe everyday in the morning on an empty stomach for the past six weeks, I must say I have noticed a difference. Not a life changing one, but enough for me to give some credit to this brand, and maybe even purchase another bottle sometime soon.

Obviously it's going to benefit some people more than others, depending on what you are using it for and the quantity you are drinking. For me, it was used as more a detox, along with a balanced diet and regular exercise. However, the gel (which comes in a range of different flavours) can also be used as part of a 1 week diet plan. Somebody from work recently completed this in fact and lost nearly half a stone which is amazing. Please note if you are going to try this gel, do not be put off by the smell or the look of it. It's actually not as bad as you would think (again this may just be my opinion so don't take my word for it). The gel, which is said to be' favoured by those looking to maintain a healthy digestive system and a natural energy level' is a great healthy kick start as well as all the other benefits it hosts. If you're still not convinced, I would recommend you checking out the forever website which gives you a further breakdown on each of the products.

Have you heard of aloe vera gel? Is this something you think would benefit you?

Birmingham Blogger Haul

Following on from my previous post, I thought it would only be right to do a blogger haul of all the amazing goodies I received on the day of the Birmingham FABB blogger event. I can only say a huge thank you to all the wonderful brands who turned up to the event for all their hard work and contributions. It was such a brilliant day and I met some lovely people!

So to start the day off, we were all given a pink goody bag as we signed in downstairs which contained some amazing samples from some very well known brands. This was followed by a whole range of other goodies as we wandered around and mingled with all the different brands. This included a goody bag from Me Me Me cosmetics who gave us some amazing full sized products including a mascara, some of their gorgeous bronzing balls, eye-liner and foundation. I haven't actually tried any of the make-up yet but it looks amazing. A real up and coming makeup brand, I think Me Me Me cosmetics have a lot of potential. Along with this, for those of us who went and spoke to the other brands, we got given some full sized products from Anovia, another up and coming brand who sell some affordable but amazing beauty products in your local drug stores. Most of their products in fact are priced at only £1 which is unreal. I have been using their shampoo just lately and I must say I am very impressed. It not only smells divine, (something one of the creators of Anovia couldn't help but mention at the event), it also contains keratin, an ingredient that every hairdresser seems to be talking about just lately.

During my mingling, I also managed to catch up with the creators of Bee Good, a brand I was already familiar with from the last blogger event. I also got my hands on one of Bodhi and Birch's amazing shower gels after testing about 10 different scents on my hand. I cant wait to use this, and just look at the cute little travel bag that came with it (below)!

Just some of the amazing goodies from the FABB Birmingham event including Skinnyboo tea, NKD skin fake tan, Benefit Porefessional and some luxury hair masques

Anovia spoilt us with their full sized treats including this BB Cream

I love the smell of the Bodhi & Birch shower gel

Not forgetting the amazing full sized Me Me Me cosmetics which we all got given

I really wasn't expecting the sheer amount of products we were kindly given on the day - there is just so many to talk about. On that note, if you do want a full review on any of the products listed in this post, then please let me know. I think Me Me Me cosmetics is a must once I have got round to sampling all of the products.

Fabb Birmingham Blogger Event

A couple of weeks ago I was fortunate enough to hear about and grab myself a ticket for the amazing #FABBBirmingham event which took place at the Custard Factory in Digbeth. For those of you who are not familiar with Birmingham, the Custard Factory is one of Birmingham's treasures as I like to call it. It's located just outside of the city centre and hosts a whole load of quirky shops and underground raves. I love it and knew I would be in for a treat from the offset.

To say we were given no information prior to the event only added to the excitement. Would there be food, drink? Unfortunately there was no food and drink on offer which left me feeling a little bit nauseous I must say as I walked around trying to disclose my passing hangover. What there was however were a whole bunch of bloggers and many exciting brands. I don't think the day could have gone any better. This was my second ever blogger event and I was thoroughly impressed. The last event I went along to was organised by a Birmingham based blogger so I cant really compare in terms of content. Not only were we inundated with freebies on the day, we also got the chance to get our hair styled by Toni and Guy and speak to some amazing up and coming brands. There was clearly a lot of effort put in to this event and it really paid off.

FABB Events host blogger events all across the country in fact, so I will definitely be checking to see if they have any more coming up in the near future. One thing is for sure, we certainly need more events like this in the West Midlands. There is so much potential for brands to mingle with like-minded bloggers and hopefully they will start to see this now.

One of my highlights from the day has to be meeting the lovely Lauren over at Shy Nature.  We had a right old giggle and she even managed to get secure some work with Style Edit, one of the brands who were sponsoring the event. Unfortunately I don't have enough followers on Instagram at the moment to work with them, but this has only made me want to strive for more. 5000 Instagramfollowers - lets make this happen! Instagram is definitely something that needs to be pushed so if you do have 5 minutes to spare, I would love for you to check out what I have been up to lately on my profile (expect lots more blogging photos). Along with meeting the lovely Lauren, I also met up with some of the other girls from the previous Birmingham blogger event. This included the adorable Rebecca over at Dash of Cheeky, the gorgeous Emma at Emma Victoria Stokes, and not forgetting the wonderful Elena at Lenny Loves Life. It was nice to actually see some familiar faces this time rather than walk around looking a bit lost.

So there you have it, my second blogger event and what a great day it was. I can't wait to see what the next one has in store. Hopefully I wont have to wait too long!

Have you been to any blogger events lately? What do you think about this FABB event?
