The last of the summer months | OOTD

What a lovely couple of weeks it has been. In fact, what a lovely summer it has been! I know I have mentioned this a fair few times over the last couple of months but we can't complain really as we reach the middle of September; the sun is still blazing and the summer clothes are still making an appearance. I am certainly not looking forward to the winter months even if it does mean cute knitwear and chunky accessories. Last weekend the family and I decided to have one last BBQ to see the summer off in true style. Another excuse to put together a summery outfit too before officially switching over to my Autumn/Winter wardrobe.

As there was a breeze in the air, I decided it would be a good idea to cover up as best as I could (unusual for me). These Topshop jeans which I have mentioned previously here are some of my personal favourites. They are a real summer steal and look great with this striped crop shirt, again from Topshop. Along with my white geek shoes (as I call them) which I adore but haven't really got much wear out of this year, I threw on my classic white blazer and off we went to my brother's for some delicious food and favoured family time.

A simple yet sophisticated look, I will be sad to say goodbye to some of the items featured in this post as winter slowly approaches.

What's on your Autumn/Winter wishlist? Are you finding it difficult to say goodbye to summer?

White Lace

In search of a new dress to wear on my night out with the girls on Saturday (which was long long overdue), I managed to pick up this beauty from the Topshop sale. I have had my eyes on this dress for a while now, the orange coloured one preferably but parting with nearly £50 wasn't an option. It was just out of luck that I popped into store on Saturday and some new lines had been added to their sale, including this. At just £25 I couldn't resist! I am not one for buying new outfits just for a night out any more, but this dress was a real bargain and it wasn't like I just bought it for the sake of it, I actually did think about buying it before it went in the sale. That's what I have been telling myself anyway...

I am really loving the lace trend that is taking place at the moment. This dress in particular is really flattering and made me look my age for once! I do love a classic white dress and think this one in particular is perfect for any occasion.

I teamed this up with an orange shoulder bag from River Island which looked amazing against the whiteness of this dress and a pair of black heels from New Look. However I do recommend a pair of tan heels something I will be investing in next time I get this dress out.

Double Denim | OOTD

It's been a while since I've posted one of these, probably due to how busy I have been just lately with work and applying for new jobs. So seeing as it was my day off and the sun was shining I decided this was the perfect opportunity to put an outfit together and get my camera out. Yesterday I visited Drayton manor theme park with my family and this is what I wore.

To start with,  my shorts which are from Topshop are some of my personal favourites. I love anything american related so I make sure these make an appearance during those summer months. I have had these a good couple of years now but this doesn't stop me wearing them - I am big lover of bringing old clothes to life years down the line. Along with this my top which I purchased in the states funnily enough is from a little department store in Philadelphia. I love this Billabong vest top for various reasons. First off, the symbol on the front reminds me of something from Egypt which is pretty cool. The back of this top has to be my favourite feature though. It has slits running down either side and I must admit is quite revealing but very sexy. Unfortunately I haven't got any pictures to show you which was a bit silly of me but I will make sure I get some for you next time. Finally, my denim jacket, a recent purchase from New Look is something I can't get enough of at the moment - it literally goes with anything! A life saver when you need something to pop over your little dress or shirt during those cooler evenings.

To finish, as you can see I have gone for a little black rucksack which is a recent purchase from Primark. Very cute and handy too on those days when you're out and about. Surprisingly I managed to fit nearly half of my original handbags contents in here which if you saw the size of my handbag you wouldn't believe for a second! I must also mention my hair which I have half tied up in a bun, a style I am loving at the moment. It not only gets the hair off my face during those warmer days, it also looks awfully cute!

That's it from me today. Thanks for reading lovelies!!

New Hair and pastels | OOTD

Father's day brought many nice things including a huge family Sunday roast, two desserts (yes two) and of course an excuse to get dressed up in little something nice. As the sun was shining this was a perfect excuse to get my camera out and take some shots in my garden or what's left of it after the chickens have been let loose!

I decided to go for a pair of new skinny jeans from Topshop as it was quite a warm day (but not quite warm enough for shorts), a pair of sandals from Primark which I bought quite recently and a gorgeous pink blazer, (again Primark) which I purchased last year. I think this look is perfect for those summer evenings when it's just cooling down. I love the colour of this blazer and think it works really well with my blue skinnies - the contrast between these two colours is lovely! The sandals which were only £8 are a very recent purchase and again are perfect for summer wear. These are very similar to the ones you will find in River Island at the moment but for a fraction of the price which is why I love Primark! I will only ever buy things that look like they're good quality products.

I have also recently had my hair done. I'm not sure if you will be able to see really from looking at these pictures but I decided to have some more brown pulled through as I was starting to look like barbie! I really like it and think I may even go darker next time but I will have to wait and see as I am forever changing my mind.

What pose shall I do?
Casual bench shot
Caught midway through talking
Serious much?
And finally-the must buy sandals if they're still in stock
Thanks again for popping by and taking the time to read my posts. Coming up next time I will be speaking about some new beauty bits after a successful Benefit Makeover in Nottingham along with my hectic shopping haul today!

Mothering Sunday | OOTD

So it was Mothering Sunday last weekend as I am sure you are all aware, a celebration of those nearest and dearest to us; our very own mother hens. As you may already know I'm not a huge fan of 'national holidays' as such. I mentioned previously in my Valentine's post that I am a firm believer in the old saying- love should be celebrated all year round (cringe I know). However saying this, I do think it's nice to set some time aside to celebrate your loved ones. Sometimes it's easy to forget that if it wasn't for our mothers, we wouldn't be here so thanks mum! I am very close to my mum and Mother's Day only allows me to reaffirm my love and appreciation for my mother, something I don't do often enough.

My mother being her usual organised self booked herself, my grandma and I a table at restaurant Bellajio, a new set of Italian restaurants in the heart of West Bromwich and Dudley. Now I have been to this restaurant once before for my 21st Birthday last year so I already had very high expectations. As this was a special occasion they had a Mother's Day special on the menu which consisted of two courses; a Sunday roast and a starter for just £10 which I thought was incredible. I went for the mushroom in a creamy sauce to start with which was really tasty and the turkey, new potatoes and veg for my main which again, was also delicious. For just £10 I could not complain, this meal was both filling and enjoyable. A very relaxed atmosphere with a bunch of friendly Italian staff, this restaurant is certainly one not to be missed if you are in the area.

The Starter
The Main Course
As this was a beautiful day I decided I would dress suitably for the occasion. After sorting through my bundles of clothes the other day, I came across these beauties (trousers). I love it when I forget I have an item of clothing which comes back into fashion. That's one of the best things about my wardrobe, I am forever finding clothes from years ago which I haven't worn but still look as good as new. These pair of cigarette trousers are one of those treasures. I think I purchased these from River Island last year but these sorts of trousers are very stylish at the moment and make the perfect transition from Winter into Spring. Topped with a white shirt from Primark and a white blazer, again Primark, this outfit oozes class. I absolutely love spring as you can ditch that big winter coat and finally start showing off some of your outfits (no more hiding under heaps of layers ladies). A white blazer is definitely a wardrobe essential especially during these warmer months when it still may not be warm enough for just a t-shirt and shorts.

I teamed this outfit with my favourite watch which you have probably seen on too many occasions now, a simple gold necklace from Topshop and my white geek shoes which I adore, again Topshop. This is the first time I have worn these shoes but they are so cute and remind me of shoes I used to wear at primary school. I guess you could call these vintage to some extent..or maybe not. I think these shoes look really work well with these sorts of trousers and add that final touch to a simple yet sophisticated outfit.

That's all for now!
